Former Husker defensive coordinator Cosgrove wants to be judged by overall record

MINNEAPOLIS — Kevin Cosgrove doesn’t make any excuses for his 2007 Nebraska defense, but the former Husker assistant coach wants to be judged by his overall accomplishments as he resumes his college football coaching career at Minnesota.

During segments of an interview with GopherHole.com, an unofficial Web site for University of Minnesota athletics, Cosgrove reflected on his four-year career as Nebraska’s defensive coordinator.

“Well, I’m not going to make any excuses for what happened there, but if you look at my past,’’ Cosgrove said, “we’ve had many successes on the teams I’ve been with.
